Winfried Rademacher
 


Winfried Rademacher studied with Kurt Schäffer (Düsseldorf), Josef Suk (Vienna), as well as with Sandor Végh, members of the Amadeus Quartet and Nathan Milstein. After numerous prizes he began a successful and varied career. Rademacher has served as concertmaster of Chamber Orchestra of Europe with Claudio Abbado, the North German Radio Orchestra with Günter Wand as well as of Celibidache's Munich Philharmonic and numerous chamber orchestras. He has toured extensively with several of these ensembles.

He is a leader of the Linos Ensemble, with which he has appeared in many festivals. Composers such as Jean Francaix, Wolfgang Rihm and Isang Yun have written works for his ensembles which also were recorded.

In 1986 Rademacher accepted a professorship at the Musikhochschule in Lübeck, and teaches since 1992 as a professor at the Musikhochschule Trossingen in Germany. He has served since 1991 as Artistic Director of the International Chamber Music Courses in Weikersheim, Germany and is a founding member of Open Chamber Music. Currently Winfried Rademacher is Concertmaster of the Zurich Chamber Orchestra and regularly invited to lead the Tonhalle Orchestra in Zurich. He is also a leader of Camerata Academica Salzburg and is a tutor for the World Youth Orchestra. Winfried Rademacher performs on a Nicolaus Gagliano violin made in 1733.
